Timed Auctions - Start, End, Countdown Admin Web
A very important part of setting up Timed Auctions is setting up the timing. You will want your bidders to be aware how long they have to get those bids in, creating that sense of excitement & pressure that automatically comes with Live Auctions.
When creating a Timed auction, the process is very similar to Live. The major difference being Auction day End Time. When creating a Live Auction, you choose primarily the date & Start Time. When creating a Timed Auction, you are choosing primarily the date & End Time.
Auction Days
You want to create an Auction, a Timed Auction. It ends March 30th at 17:00. In short you enter that date & that time into the relevant boxes. Then hit the Create new button. The Start Time (showing as 10am below) in reality has little or no effect.
Date, Time End & Create
NOTE: If no End Time is given. The system assumes midnight as the End Time.
You can see best how the time you have entered affects your Auctions Lots by going to your Catalogue page within Snoofa Admin.
Catalogue Page With End Times
The below clip shows you firstly Lot date/time ends, with the Auction set to 30th March & no end time given. No End Time given causes the system to assume midnight as the end. Which in turn causes a date of 29th, therefore it is very important to give an End Time and the right one at that.
You will also see the clip show how entering an End Time changes the Lots date/time ends. Our clip is given an End Time of 18:00, this brings the date back to the correct date & causing the last Lots End Time to become 18:00. Then Lots before it to have End Times of 2 minutes before in sequence.
In summary, enter the time you wish your Auction to end, within the End box, as well as the Auction date within the Date box. All Lots before the last Lot, will automatically be given End Times at 2 minute intervals, starting before your entered End Time.
Finally your Client facing Catalogue, will show a Countdown timer, on each and every Lot. Based on the date/time you entered, also showing that 2 minute interval between Lots.
